Earlier this month, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office following renewed scrutiny related to documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Reports indicate that investigators are examining whether confidential materials may have been shared during Andrew’s tenure as the UK’s trade envoy in 2010.
He was released under investigation and has not been formally charged. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, and his arrest should not be interpreted as evidence of guilt while the investigation remains ongoing.
Following the news, King Charles issued a measured public statement, expressing concern and reaffirming his support for the legal process.
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” the King said. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”
